01 · The market case
Italy needs imported grain. Romania is a nearby EU source.
The reports identify Italy as an EU corn-deficit market. Romania supplies wheat, corn, barley and sunflower, while Constanța and the Danube connect production to Mediterranean routes.

Romania is an EU origin for corn, wheat, barley and sunflower. Its principal routes include Constanța and the Danube ports of Galați and Brăila.
The wheat report says Romania and Bulgaria have a logistics advantage into the Mediterranean. That advantage exists when the FOB price plus short-haul freight produces a competitive delivered price.
The reports recommend showing the commodity price, freight and delivered price separately. They also recommend certified delivery points, warehouses, accredited laboratories and clear quality specifications.
BSX applies this analysis to the transaction: the buyer can compare the goods, origin, price basis, freight, documents and delivery status in one place.

02 · What BSX is
BSX is a digital B2B platform for physical agricultural commodity trade.
A buyer creates an RFQ, verified suppliers submit offers and the parties agree the transaction. BSX coordinates the digital record from contract to inspection, logistics, delivery and closure. Each participant remains responsible for its own work.
- 01
Company verification
BSX records the legal company, ownership, authorised representatives, signing authority and nominated accounts.
- 02
RFQ and supplier offers
The buyer records the product, specification, volume, destination and timing. Qualified suppliers submit origin, availability, price basis and commercial terms.
- 03
Contract record
The parties accept the same product, quantity, tolerances, price, Incoterms® rule, payment terms, document list and dispute procedure.
- 04
Documents and inspection
Commercial documents, inspection results, certificates and every later version are linked to the transaction stage where they are required.
- 05
Execution coordination
Logistics, inspection, financial and insurance partners record the events and confirmations assigned to them.
- 06
Audit trail and closure
Discrepancies, corrections, approvals, timestamps, delivery confirmation and final status remain in the Digital Trade Record.
BSX / BoundaryBSX provides digital infrastructure. It is not a buyer, seller, broker, carrier, inspection company, insurer or financial institution. It does not own goods, hold funds, execute payments or resolve contractual disputes.
03 · How it works
One transaction moves through six visible steps.
Every step has an owner, a required action and supporting evidence. The current status is visible to the authorised participants.
- 01
Request
The buyer states the product, quality, volume, delivery point and timing.
- 02
Match
BSX connects the request with verified supply.
- 03
Contract
Both sides accept the same commercial terms, delivery rule, payment method and document schedule.
- 04
Verify
The assigned inspector and service providers attach quality, quantity, origin and transport evidence.
- 05
Transport
The responsible logistics company records loading, departure, port and delivery milestones.
- 06
Complete
Delivery, acceptance and payment confirmation close the transaction. Any discrepancy and correction remain in the history.
04 · Why Romania
Romania provides the clearest starting route for Italy.
It combines EU-origin agricultural products, Black Sea port access and Danube connections. The first BSX route can be built around Romanian supply and expanded to other eligible regional origins.
- 01
Core products: milling wheat, feed corn, feed barley, sunflower seeds and sunflower oil.
- 02
Constanța is the main Romanian Black Sea reference port in both reports.
- 03
Galați and Brăila connect additional supply through the Danube.
- 04
Romanian and Bulgarian origins can support EU-based delivery contracts and certified quality procedures.
- 05
The route can be compared with distant origins using separate FOB, freight and delivered-price figures.
- 06
Eligible regional supply can later include Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine and other Black Sea origins when conditions permit.
05 · A two-way route
The same platform supports trade in both directions.
Italian buyers can source agricultural products through BSX. Italian suppliers can use the verified company network to present products to selected Black Sea markets.

07 · What the reports recommend
The proposed BSX product starts with specific goods, prices and controls.
The two reports describe a practical first product scope for an electronic Black Sea commodity platform.
- 01
Start with milling wheat, feed corn, feed barley, sunflower seeds and crude sunflower oil.
- 02
Use Constanța as a main reference while allowing other eligible Black Sea and Danube delivery points.
- 03
Publish the commodity price, freight cost and delivered price separately so buyers can compare the complete route.
- 04
Use clear specifications for protein, moisture, test weight, impurities, oil content and other product-specific values.
- 05
Connect certified warehouses, accredited laboratories, inspectors and logistics providers to the transaction record.
- 06
Keep market data updateable: the reports use public USDA, FAO and OECD-FAO sources and note that estimates change.
